The power of our creative and analytic abilities

A movie touching on: genetics; never seen before computer technology and brain power and travel through time and space; healing beings in the future; fixing humanity; magic unlocked by the hearts and minds of children. What is it? It is a movie for all ages that you should see or watch again, The Last Mimzy. It includes some great imagination and perhaps bits of truth from the future and past (e.g., perhaps about a map). Particularly enjoyed was the guest appearance of this well known String guru, Brian Greene (see Elegant Universe) who answered the Edge.org World Question Center’s 2007 question (What are you optimistic about?), as follows:

The Power of Our Creative and Analytic Abilities
As I help raise my two year old son, I witness a basic truth familiar to parents through the ages and across the continents — we begin life as uninhibited explorers with a boundless fascination for the ever-growing world to which we have access. And what I find amazing is that if that fascination is fed, and if it's challenged, and if it's nurtured, it can grow to an intellect capable of grappling with such marvels as the quantum nature of reality, the energy locked inside the atom, the curved spacetime of the cosmos, the elementary constituents of matter, the genetic code underlying life, the neural circuitry responsible for consciousness, and perhaps even the very origin of the universe. While we evolved to survive, once we have the luxury of taking such survival for granted, the ability of our species to unravel mysteries grand and deep is awe inspiring. I'm optimistic that the world will increasingly value the power of such rational thought and will increasingly rely on its insights in making the most critical decisions.

Moving towards 2020 the world will continue to discover and elevate creative and analytic abilities, and other inherent qualities, within people and creations.

It is possible to step up the future, and change future history for the better

Increasingly as the world elevates focus on prevention, proactive risk management, and collaboration (perhaps even evolving auditors towards increasingly being solution contributors versus largely maintaining their traditional role as finders of fault) there is greater hope for a better future within and because of the efforts of individuals and various industries. One such industry is entertainment.

Software, technology and information related to the Entertainment industry can stretch paradigms, touch the heart and inspire. From a laptop and software that helps create a cool sound to help others "Step Up"; to the millions of related views within the interconnected universe; to the knowledge sharing of young students comparing technologies used in the entertainment industry; the combined energy of the entertainment industry has the potential to be a strong positive force that helps create a brighter future for all.

Perhaps beyond belief, there is just doing something because it is the right thing to do, and because it can be and grow, fun. From the innovation of various creative start-ups, to the various solutions for the media and entertainment industry (e.g.), to the progress of Microsoft (e.g., since this 2006 TechCrunch post); those related to the entertainment industry can help to change the future, save lives and give many people hope for a life that is better.

Imagine the positive change that could be enabled thanks to this software-technology intensive industry and the innate magic it produces. It is possible to step up the future, and for the Entertainment Industry to help inspire and make tremendous gains by 2020.

What if you had to tell someone the most important thing in the world but you knew they'd never believe you?

Ideally you'd try.

The future can be a bright one for all. Software, technology and information can help. IT Pros and the general public increasingly coming together with positive energy to address high purposes, can too! Rather than give great energy to thinking about what to do when technology fails, give great energy to prevention and ensuring technology succeeds. Bring goodness to the path, over and over again.

The science in this favorite movie is intriguing and perhaps an example of the future success of technology interaction with the public...

Favourite movie scene, and thoughts of a better future

This was expressed on the 14th some months back, and with the help of an entertaining rather insightful clip: "explore the mystery, discover the opportunities". With some 2020 insight from the future it may be possible sooner to have the software, information, technology and related resources you interact with, be highly intuitive. In the meantime, the link above includes a clip from a favourite movie scene. Hope you enjoy reloading it within the interconnected universe where anything is possible. Movie Time, Jumper

Sounds entertaining, trailer looks interesting. Although not a fan of violence, the science is intriguing. Tagline is "Anywhere is possible". Plot outline is: A genetic anomaly allows a young man to teleport himself anywhere. He discovers this gift has existed for centuries and finds himself in a war that has been raging for thousands of years between "Jumpers" and those who have sworn to kill them.
